Services Provided

The GLOWW Center is available to help single mothers provide for their families.
Our services include a Food Pantry, Clothes Closet, Diaper Bank, and Hygiene items.
To receive some or all of these services, please follow the instructions below:

1. CURRENT CLIENTS - If you are a current client, click here to schedule your next appointment. 

2. NEW CLIENTS - If you have not been to the GLOWW Center before, please call 757-837-8663
before scheduling your appointment. New clients will fill out an intake form on their first visit
so we can determine if additional help and/or resources are needed.
All information you provide us is confidential. 

Additional information re: our Services:

The GLOWW Center accepts appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 10:30 and 2:00.
Please plan for your appointment to be approximately 30 minutes.

Food Pantry

Our supplemental food assistance includes non-perishable canned/boxed food items. Families can receive a bag of canned & boxed goods. 

*Each family receives approximately 1 week’s worth of groceries per household. 

We serve clients up to 2 times a month (bi-weekly).

Clothing Closet

The GLOWW Center provides clean, gently used clothing for women.

Clothing is available every 30 days as needed. Exceptions will be made in an emergency.

Diaper Bank

The GLOWW Center is pleased to be a Diaper Bank Agent in Yorktown, VA for women in need with children between newborn through 5 years of age.

Clients will receive a pack of diapers once a month for each child in need who are under their care and custody. Diapers will come with one pack of wipes, based on availability.

Hygiene Bank

The GLOWW Center provides a Hygiene Bag to single moms & women as needed. Hygiene products are based on availability but typically include:

  • Pads/Tampons

  • Toothbrush & Toothpaste

  • Bar Soap/Liquid Body Soap

  • Deodorant

  • Shampoo/Conditioner

Future Services will include:

Education & Training

We look forward to serving the single mom community of the VA Peninsula with Education & Training in the near future! Classes and training will be taught by volunteers, community organizations, subject matter experts and professionals. 

Classes to be provided include:

  • Financial Workshops

  • Work /Career trainings

  • Spiritual needs

  • Health Improvement

  • Child Rearing

  • General educational classes
